Carhartt, the original workwear brand founded in 1889 in Detroit, Michigan, in the United States, has been producing functional and protective items for workers ever since.
These are garments that must be of high quality, extremely robust and able to withstand the worst conditions and in any weather situation.
Hamilton Carhartt
founder of Carhartt, he was a free thinker with an inexhaustible creative vein, but he was above all a person who believed in what had never been done before. He believed in himself and in the products he made. And with each man he made "clear pacts, whether you work for me or buy from me". In this spirit, he not only created a workwear brand, but also friendships that lasted more than 129 years. Today Carhartt is at the side of every man and every woman who faces life with the same spirit as Hamilton.
W.I.P
About a century after Carhartt began manufacturing overalls in the United States, Carhartt WIP began modifying these classic garments to appeal to a European audience.
Created in 1994 by Edwin Faeh, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) develops its collections based on the original garments of Carhartt inspired by the world of work. The brand combines authentic reinterpretations of these resilient American archetypes by studying the social classes that have used them. This enabled the Carhartt WIP to position itself in a new context and to carry on its classics.
